Transponder
Suitable for:
Municipal waste management, recycling bins, food waste bins, large containers, retrofitting of EN 840 containers.
RFID transponders from KWS enable automatic owner identification of waste bins and containers on collection vehicles—optionally combined with weighing. Three versions in red, yellow, and blue cover everything from short-range (chip nest) to long-range (large containers).

Info
Rugged RFID tags for waste management in low-frequency (LF), high-frequency (HF), or UHF configurations. The tags can be easily installed in standard chip sockets, which are found in most waste bins.
Specially designed transponders for metal containers ensure consistent performance even in environments where metal structures could impair read performance due to signal reflections. For optimal read and write capabilities, the RF version includes a 1024-bit EEPROM, and the UHF version includes 512 bits of user memory plus a 96-bit EPC.
Advantages
-
Easy integration: Standard size in accordance with DIN 30745 for easy installation or retrofitting into existing chip sockets in most plastic and metal containers.
-
Tamper-proof: A special keyed threaded mechanism prevents unauthorized removal for fraudulent purposes and ensures data integrity.
-
High compatibility: Available in low frequency (LF), high frequency (HF), and ultra-high frequency (UHF) – covers all standard global installations and protocols.
-
Reliable performance: No line-of-sight required, with special options for optimal performance on plastic or metal containers.
-
Extreme durability: Excellent resistance to water, salt spray, mineral oil, and petroleum, as well as high tolerance to physical shocks and temperature fluctuations.
-
Metal container compatible: Special transponder configurations for consistent performance on metal containers that compensate for signal reflections.
-
High storage capacity: HF version with 1024-bit EEPROM and UHF version with 512-bit user memory plus 96-bit EPC for extensive data capture.
-
Multiple formats: Available in Unique, HDX, FDX-b (EN14803), HF, or EPC Global Class 1 Gen 2 compatible formats for all common implementations.
-
Optimal data integrity: Resistant to tampering—helps waste management companies easily and efficiently achieve optimal data integrity.
