Sensors
Suitable for:
Weighbridges, bulk material scales (static/dynamic), roll-off tippers, tailgate scales.
KWS sensors provide precise position detection, tilt compensation, and automation in scales and identification systems. Inductive/capacitive proximity switches and ultrasonic sensors for bin detection, and the ACS-90 tilt sensor for metrological accuracy.

Integration
Sensors are integrated into KWS terminals (IT3, KT500, etc.) for legal-metrology-compliant weighing, bin identification, and automation. Compatible with telematics, RFID, and all types of scales.
Sensors
Tilt Sensor ACS-90
The ACS-90 measures tilt in two axes (X/Y) and compensates for weight errors at tilt angles up to 6°—calibrated with the scale. Required for Verification Class III, recommended for Class IIII when using high resolution or variable mounting positions.
Measuring range: 0–90°
Compensation: 0–6° linearized
Application: Body/vehicle tilt
Inductive proximity switches
Inductive switches detect metal parts contactlessly via an electromagnetic field – ideal for weighing positions on body and bulk scales. High resistance to dirt, dust, oil, and moisture; M12/M18, 4–20 mm distance.
Operating principle: Metals only
Advantages: Dirt-resistant
Application: Dynamic scales (2-wheel scales, start/weighing position)
Capacitive Proximity Sensors
Capacitive "all-rounders" detect solids, liquids, and granules through walls—flexible for non-metallic objects. More sensitive to moisture, but versatile; M12/M18, 4–20 mm sensing distance.
Operating principle: Electric field (dielectric constant)
Advantages: Through walls/granules
Applications: Bin detection, tipping position
Ultrasonic sensor
Ultrasonic sensors (M18, 30–300 mm) detect 4-wheel bins non-contact for bulk material scales—regardless of material. Perfect for dynamic processes with high discharge rates.
Switching distance: 30–300 mm.
Application: 4-wheel bin detection
